I'm old..... 21. That's right, today was my birthday. And on my birthday, I went to the dentist and to the optometrist. hehe. I made the appointments, not realizing they were on my birthday, but I didn't mind. It at least got me up early so I could enjoy the day. I did go out to eat at Carabba's. I love that place, and they have great calarmari. Not to mention the fact that every body and their mother from OPHS works there. Apparently you get really good tips (it's a rather expensive place to eat, but ohhh so good). Speaking of Orange Park, the new Miss Florida is from Orange Park. She just graduated from FSU, but she's from Orange Park. Yes, Dave, yet another person from OP. :) Anyway, afterwards, Corey and his friend Cherry from IU came over and we watched a movie. No biggie. That's the way I like them. I really don't like making a big deal about birthdays (mostly because I really hate being the center of attention--though, I don't mind public speaking.... odd). Anyway, I had a good day. Tomorrow I'm going to the beach, so I need to head off to bed.... good night.

Once again, I assert my Theorem:
Browser Theory 1
Netscape is a terrible browser.
Browser Theory 1, Corollary 1:
Netscape is inferior to Internet Explorer.
Said theorem and said corollary have yet to be disproved, and until such time, said theorem and said Corollary will be assumed to be fact.

Quote of the day:
"In Europe, 18 to 20 million people, including 8 to 10 million Germans, go on nude vacations every year." --Jeff Rockel in 'A study of social nudity from a Biblical and secular perspective.'

interesting note.... if you go to dogpile.com and search for 'barely clothed breasts,' my page is number 8 on the list. Go figure how I got there.....

argh.... I've gotten some new ideas for my website. For it's layout that is. Check out www.creednet.com. It's Creed's homepage, and I really really like the color scheme and it's layout. It's simple, but yet really stylish. I really don't like classifying Nouns as 'cool' solely on their appearance and/or style, but Creed is a very 'cool' group. When people were moving out over the break, I saw this guy with a huge poster of them. I have no other way to describe it other than to say 'it was dang cool.' About that cool thing... I hardly ever judge people's 'coolness' by their appearance (eg, whether or not they have retro, black, thick-framed glasses or not). Yes, that's a reference to one of Dave's updates. : ) I've never really thought of the word cool in that way. At least, not in reference to people. I judge the coolness of people on their personality, and how they 'are.' Make sense? But then again, I've never really put much emphasis on physical appearance and being part of the 'cool group.' In high school, I had a very good group of friends. Friends whom I didn't ever have to try to impress, nor around whom did I have to try to be someone I'm not. We were who we were, and we all accepted each other at that. I guess I've pretty much always known who I am, and haven't had the need to have others define who I am--a need a lot of people seem to have these days. So, I guess, I judge the coolness of people on whether or not they know who they are, and whether or not they need confirmation of their identity from others. That's odd, I suppose, cause that's pretty much counter of what the traditional definition of cool is.
Geez, all of that from a stinking poster I saw.
Today, Corey and Amy came down. It was pretty cool. All we did was sit around and watch the Whose Line is It Anyway marathon on Comedy Central. Then we went to Maui and then we went to church. We also rented Man on the Moon, which was interesting. I hesitate to say it was good or bad, but it was definitely interesting. Had I had some prior exposure to Andy Kauffman, it probably would have been better, but I still was entertained.
I'm not looking forward to class this week. I really don't have anything to do that I'm dreading, but it's just a responsibility. 'Responsibility Baaaad, Laziness Gooooood.' I have a presentation to give on Tanning practices in industry (or something like that.... it's from some article I have yet to finish reading) and I have a few computer labs that I need to finish. I probably will have a few meetings to go to over at the physical plant, which means getting up early before class. Sigh. I don't really mind doing it; I even think this is a good class and is very practical, but it's just the fact that I 'have' to do it, you know? Anyway..... that's it for now.

Well, if you haven't noticed, I added some javascript for the images on the left. Nothing big, but I think it adds a nice feature to the site. I don't think I'll be changing the format of the site anymore.... at least, not for a couple weeks. :) I have a tendency to get tired of something very quickly. E.g., I rearrange my room a couple times a semester, or I change the color scheme/layout of my webpage.
I also have 'finished' (by 'finished' I mean things are all working properly and I'm mildly satisfied with it's appearance) the "Optimasters" website. We have to have a website with information for our groups in my Process Engineering Megacourse, and I was designated the webmaster for that (big surprise). It's actually pretty cool, cause it's giving me an opportunity to learn some PHP and Perl. I added a pretty cool upload interface for my partners and I to use so we can upload files that we're working on. I'm pretty proud of it, considering I just started learning PHP and Perl about 5 days ago. Oh, I did have to borrow some scripts from other people, but that's the best way to learn, by example.
I have also just recently been assigned to the Student Webmaster position in the Chemical Engineering Department. I really haven't done anything yet, but mostly because I haven't been told what to do yet. I have a meeting with one of the head network guys tomorrow, and he's going to tell me what I should be doing. From what I can tell, I have to convert the current website to conform with the new University's Departmental Website rules, or something like that. I'm going to find out what that is tomorrow. Also, I'm told that their moving their webservers to Linux (pronounced with a short i, not a long i), so I'll have to prepare the site for the switchover. Also, I've noticed that the site is extremely fat--ie, there are tons of lines of useless code and scripting that could easily be optimized with things like Cascading Style Sheets and Include statements. Hopefully they'll use PHP, so I can start using my newly gained (and still quite limited) PHP knowledge. :)
